Wrestling magazines are synonyms with the name Bill Apter. He was in charge of PWI and known for his Apter Mags. This week is a GREAT history lesson from a guy who was ringside for ALL OF IT! Bill tells Colt how he got Andy Kaufman into wrestling and more.

This was a great show! Bill always has great stories, please have him on again to tell more!
Amazing interview this week. Loved hearing the old school stories. The “Apter Mags” were such a big part of being a fan in the 70′s and 80′s.
Great show Colt!
I really love these discussions with people who are in the Biz but aren’t workers.
You never hear much about these types of guys and what motivations they have.
More Annoucer, Refs, etc shows… in the future!
great guy…..great show! thx!
Really great show, Colt. One of your best. Just a great interview – good work.
Another awesome show. I was like you, Colt. It was huge to get the new magazines for me. I used to flip though the pages and I liked reading about wrestlers that weren’t on TV for me in CT. Then I’d see them on WWF with different names and I’d roll my eyes knowing the “real” story about their backgrounds that were never mentioned, of course, on Vince’s TV. Ah, the old days–before I found the Observer in 1989!
